Who are you?

The Caterpillar and Alice looked at each other for some time in silence: at last the Caterpillar took the hookah out of its mouth, and addressed her in a languid, sleepy voice.

"Who are you?" said the Caterpillar.

This was not an encouraging opening for a conversation. Alice replied, rather shyly, "I - I hardly know, sir, just at present - at least I know who I was when I got up this morning, but I think I must have been changed several times since then."

"What do you mean by that?" said the Caterpillar sternly. "Explain yourself!"

"I can't explain myself, I'm afraid, sir," said Alice, "because I'm not myself, you see."

"I don't see," said the Caterpillar.

"I'm afraid I can't put it more clearly," Alice replied very politely, "for I can't understand it myself, to begin with..."

Oh, hey! Guess this means I'm blogging. To be completely truthful, this is the most excruciating part of creating a blog imaginable. What to say?? I suppose I should share some basic things about me. In Underland, the King of Hearts advised on a particular occasion that one should "begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop." So I'll try to follow suit. 

So, Name's Maddy. That's not short for Madeleine, Madonna or Insane-Girl (though hey...). My twin calls me "Madness". My middle initial is E, which gives you ME. Pretty fun that it worked out that way. 

I have four brothers and two sisters, most of whom are married and on the family plan now. My twin lives abroad with his cat and fiancée (neither of whom I've met). Our youngest sister is mom to a demon cat and I have a  wonderful spaniel with a drinking problem I love more than life itself. She's a real diamond. ;) 

Guess that's about it for now. Off to see if I can remember any of the millions of writing ideas I had that were prodding me into starting this blog in the first place!
