Ignorance is the currency of the left and to snub the national anthem is evidence of a complete ignorance of history. To wit, the fifth stanza of the Star Spangled Banner added by Oliver Wendell Holmes in 1861 which sings of the sacrifices made to free the slaves and condemns those who snub our flag of freedom:
By the millions unchained who our birthright have gained,
We will keep her bright blazon forever unstained!
And the Star-Spangled Banner in triumph shall wave
While the land of the free is the home of the brave.
That triumph of freeing black Americans from slavery cost over 500,000 American lives and made America one of the first in the world (and one of the few even today) to free its slaves.
The left should take serious note of the first half of that stanza because it serves as a warning to seditionists like them who better learn to kiss the ground they're on or GTFO:
When our land is illumined with Liberty's smile,
If a foe from within strike a blow at her glory,
Down, down with the traitor that dares to defile
The flag of her stars and the page of her story!
